It's that time of year again when a lot of people start thinking about New Year's resolutions. The new year is a great way to start on some goals, but, uunfortunately, with in a couple months many people let their goals slip by and fall back into their old habits.
To ensure you stay on the right path for your goals make a plan. List the goals you want to achieve, make them realistic. For instance, you may want to lose 50 pounds, but start off small with 5 or 10 pound goals for every few weeks or months. This way you will be able to see your progress and not get so discouraged.
List the steps you need to take to get to those goals and make those steps a priority on your To Do list. This way you won't easily dismiss the time you've got allotted for the steps to your goals and let everything else come before it. Mark your progress along the way, and adjust as circumstances arise.
You will then soon be on the right path to your goals and see yourself reach the smaller goals along the way! For more information check out this article on New Year's Resolutions http://ezinearticles.com/?Keeping-New-Year-Resolutions-In-2011&id=5471711.

Time for some Commitment to Yourself!
We all have busy schedules so it can be easy to fall into the habit of using our schedules as an excuse to not take better care of our health with exercise and nutrition. I think we have to realize that putting other less important task before us taking care of our health is kind of, well, crazy. Think about it; if we don't take care of our health we may not be able to do all those other things on our schedule or we could end up doing them half fast instead of giving it our all, including our time with our family. So it makes sense to make taking care of ourselves our top priority so we can better take care of our schedules and those we love.

Going for Your Goals: Fear of Failure!
Good morning! Have you ever felt like you're on the brink of success of something and then a little voice inside your head tells you not to go for it, because... what if??? It's happened to me and stopped me dead in my tracks from going for certain goals.
I've now learned that failure is actually a form of success because regardless of the outcome, if we've still given it our all, we've learned valuable lessons along the way, and can learn from any mistakes we may have made. It's all a growing process!
So next time fear takes hold of your senses, work through it and you will learn, grow and may even succeed at your goals.
To help us understand more about Fear of Failure here's a video by Brian Tracy discussing it. Take a look!

Going for Your Goals: Vision/Goal Boards!
We've discussed a lot of topics under the Goals subject and many of us have learned a lot so far and are working hard at applying some of the techniques. One technique worth discussing that helps us get motivated and also stay on track is a Vision/Goal Board. I know, it sounds kind of grade schoolish, and it probably is, however, I can tell you from experience that it works.
I have had several Vision/Goal Boards over the past couple of years. I was doing my goals list, to do lists, etc., but needed a little extra something to help keep me going. A Vision/Goal board was the answer for me! Whether you do tangible one or a virtual one, you will find that it helps you stay focused without feeling overwhelmed. I do admit that I actually like doing them; there's something to finding pictures of your goals, cutting them out and attaching them to a board.
For my board I had lots of pictures and listed next to each were the steps I needed to take to reach those goals. That visual reminder each day really helps to get your day started right and also helps to clear any clutter that may have sidetracked you from your goals.
I found a great article on how to create a Vision/Goal board. Check it out and then get out the scissors, construction paper, and glue and go to town! Click HERE for the article.
